Asiana Airlines and Korea University Anam Hospital are working to attract medical tourists.
Asiana Airlines signed a business agreement at Korea University Anam Hospital on the 8th to stimulate demand for K-medical tourism. According to this business agreement, Asiana Airlines will provide a 5-15% seasonal ticket discount and one additional piece of checked baggage to foreign tourists visiting Korea for the purpose of receiving treatment at Korea University Anam Hospital. In addition, Korea University Anam Hospital provides the basic examination fee of 756,000 won at a special price of 600,000 won for Asiana Airlines customers and also applies a 20% discount on additional examination fees. Korea University Anam Hospital is considered a hospital that foreigners can use comfortably as it provides treatment in English, Russian, and Mongolian.
Asiana Airlines has been conducting promotions with major hospitals since 2009, when it became legal to attract foreign patients to Korea. Previously, business agreements were signed with ▲Hanyang University International Hospital, ▲Yonsei University Medical Center, ▲Soonchunhyang University Central Medical Center, and ▲H Plus Yangji Hospital, contributing to attracting demand for foreign medical tourism. Seong-guk Doo, head of Asiana Airlines’ passenger division, said, “I hope this agreement will be a signal for the revitalization of K-medical medical tourism, which has been stagnant since the COVID-19 pandemic.”
